The Portiuncula Indulgence (Mark your calendar!)

The Portiuncula Indulgence (Mark your calendar!) Source:   Mount Saint Sepulchre Fraternity of the Secular Franciscan Order The Portiuncula (small portion) refers to the land in Assisi, Italy, that belonged to the Benedictines.  On this land  was an old church dedicated to the Virgin Mother of God but abandoned.  The great St. Francis had great devotion to the queen of the world and when he saw that the church was deserted, he began to live there constantly and repair it.  He heard that the angels often visited it, so that it was called St. Mary of the Angels.  The Benedictines wanted to give Francis the church but in order to remain faithful to Lady Poverty, Francis rented it from them with the annual compensation of a basket of fish from the Tescio river.  Here is where Francis began his service to Christ and His Church. Here Francis founded his Order, received Clare as his spiritual daughter, and where he died commending this spot above all others to the friars

Seven Woes of Jesus to the Scribes and Pharisees

"WOE to the shepherds!" All these cardinal/bishop scandals -  "Woe to the Shepherds!"  Priests, bishops, and cardinals abusing their powers.  Abusing children and teenagers... Abusing seminarians...  Woe  also to other bishops/cardinals covering up for their fellow clerics' abuses and dirt!   Here are the Seven WOEs of Our Lord to the Scribes and Pharisees which our corrupt church leaders today sadly inherited from them: Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples,  “The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses' seat, so do and observe whatever they tell you, but not the works they do. For they preach, but do not practice. They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on people's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger. They do all their deeds to be seen by others. For they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long, and they love the place of honor at feasts and the best seats i

Our Lady of Akita: ''The Church will be full of those who accept compromises...''

Our Lady of Akita: ''The Church will be  full  of those who accept compromises...'' IF you are awake like me and observing what's happening in the Catholic church -  she is in crisis .  If you are not aware, then you need to pay more attention.  One of the most important aspect, which is similarly ignored by most people today, relates to those words of Our Lady to Sr. Agnes Sasagawa at Akita:  ''The Church will be  full of  those who accept compromises....'' That phrase  ''full of''  is as troubling as it looks accurate. Isn't that exactly what we see all around us? I have posted an article about this previously:  Bishops against Bishops  - this division was foretold in 1973 by the Blessed Virgin Mary during her Church-approved apparitions in Akita, Japan.   This prophecy is currently being fulfilled at an ever-increasing rate. We see new teachings and new dogmas invented by clerics to suit their taste that

HAPPY FEAST OF MOUNT CARMEL!

HAPPY FEAST OF MOUNT CARMEL! Our Lady of Mount Carmel “WEAR THE SCAPULAR DEVOUTLY AND PERSEVERINGLY. IT IS MY GARMENT TO BE CLOTHED IN IT MEANS YOU ARE CONTINUALLY THINKING OF ME, AND I IN TURN, AM ALWAYS THINKING OF YOU AND HELPING YOU TO SECURE ETERNAL LIFE.”  -OUR LADY TO ST. SIMON STOCK THE BROWN SCAPULAR OF OUR LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL A Scapular is a means by which Catholic lay people are able to show affection for or affiliation to a Religious order – people who because of their state in life are unable to actually join an order can at least participate in its merits and privileges. There are a number of scapulars, of varying colours – each has its own story and spirituality. The most famous of them all – and the most important – is the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The Brown Scapular consists of two pieces of cloth joined by cords or strings and worn over the shoulders. According to ancient traditions, the Scapular was given to Saint Sim

The greatest weapon within the grasp of every Catholic is the keeping of a well-ordered soul

The greatest weapon within the grasp of every Catholic is the keeping of a well-ordered soul The good tree produces good fruit — which is to say what comes  before  makes a qualitative determination in what comes  after . We may take this adage in application to the many things in life, but concerning the Church it has a special significance. The holy Church of Christ has produced out of abundance of the graces it has in its store, an astounding number of holy people, those whom we call saints — those canonized and not-canonized. If you have made yourselves acquainted with the biographies of the saints, you are aware — as too many nowadays are  not  — that the Church has a very lengthy roster of recognized saints, much greater than is generally known. The efficient cause of this holiness is none other than Christ Himself, the all-holy One who is the Head of the Church, who attaches Himself to His members who draw their life’s blood from Him: the premier example of the holy tr

Catholics are not allowed to obey (Lapsed) Bishops any longer

Catholics are not allowed to obey (Lapsed) Bishops any longer Council Confirms: German Bishops Are Now Lapsed Catholics By introducing  Communion for Protestants  seven German bishops have so far lapsed from the Faith. They have lost their episcopal authority.  Catholics are not allowed to obey them any longer. The worst predictions have become reality in Germany: Holy Communion is thrown to everybody who cares or doesn't care (Mt 7:6). The German intercommunion bishops justify themselves by claiming that "faith alone" is sufficient for receiving Holy Communion. But this opinion is condemned by the Council of Trent (1545-1563): "lf anyone saith that faith alone is a sufficient preparation for receiving the Sacrament of the Most Holy Eucharist; let him be anathema." - Council of Trent, Session XIII, Canon XI. Unlike the Second Vatican Council which was only a "pastoral council", the Council of Trent is a Council with infa

What We Have Lost Since Vatican II... and the Road to Restoration...

What We Have Lost Since Vatican II... and the Road to Restoration... "I saw many pastors cherishing dangerous ideas against the Church. . . . They built a large, singular, extravagant church which was to embrace all creeds with equal rights: Evangelicals, Catholics, and all denominations, a true communion of the unholy with one shepherd and one flock. There was to be a Pope, a salaried Pope, without possessions. All was made ready, many things finished; but, in place of an altar, were only abomination and desolation. Such was the new church to be, and it was for it that he had set fire to the old one; but God designed otherwise."  ( from Life and Revelations of Anne Catherine Emmerich, Vol. 2, pp. 352-353) Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot: they have changed my delightful portion into a desolate wilderness.   -Jeremiah 12:10 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Let us become like this child and go to heaven!

Let us become like this child and go to heaven! Photo: from Fr. Cherubim If it this picture doesn't melt your heart, I don't know what else. Without hesitation, this little girl tries to pick up the cross and help our Lord and willing to follow Him. If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.  -Matthew 16:24 Unlike Simone of Cyrene (not to discredit him for helping the Lord carry the cross), this little girl needed NOT to be asked to help our Lord carry his cross to calvary.  This is how we reach heaven when our Lord said  'unless we become a little child......'  : Amen I say to you, unless you be converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.  -Matthew 18:3 This little girl teaches us how we should humble ourselves  more ; deny ourselves  more ; carry whatever cross/burdens/adversities come to us.  It takes one picture of a child carrying a cross to c

Unpacking the Catechism on Immigration (And an Aspect That Rarely Makes the News)

Unpacking the Catechism on Immigration (And an Aspect That Rarely Makes the News) JUNE 27, 2018 BY  FR MATTHEW P. SCHNEIDER, LC Believe it or not, the Catechism covers immigration in just one number, #2241. This number declares two duties which run in opposite directions.  The USCCB does a good job of explaining both  while quoting all of  #2241 . The first duty is to welcome the foreigner out of charity and respect for the human person. Persons have the right to immigrate and thus government must accommodate this right to the greatest extent possible, especially financially blessed nations: “The more prosperous nations are obliged, to the extent they are able, to welcome the foreigner in search of the security and the means of livelihood which he cannot find in his country of origin. Public authorities should see to it that the natural right is respected that places a guest under the protection of those who receive him.” Catholic Catechism, 2241. The second du

Month of the Precious Blood

Image
Month of the Precious Blood O Most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ, save us and the whole world! Source: Catholic Culture The month of July  ( Overview  -  Calendar )  is dedicated to the Precious Blood.  The feast of the Precious Blood of our Lord was instituted in 1849 by Pius IX, but the devotion is as old as Christianity. The early Fathers say that the Church was born from the pierced side of Christ, and that the sacraments were brought forth through His Blood. "The Precious Blood which we worship is the Blood which the Savior shed for us on Calvary and reassumed at His glorious Resurrection; it is the Blood which courses through the veins of His risen, glorified, living body at the right hand of God the Father in heaven; it is the Blood made present on our altars by the words of Consecration; it is the Blood which merited sanctifying grace for us and through it washes and beautifies our soul and inaugurates the beginning of eternal life in it."
