Solemnity of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist

St John the Baptist, pray for us! And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High; for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways, to give knowledge of salvation to his people in the forgiveness of their sins, through the tender mercy of our God. pic.twitter.com/lFN78CY9g7 — Pauline Books & Media 📖📡 (@PBMPublishing) June 24, 2020

Redemptive Suffering

'Redemptive suffering'  is the personal sacrifices that Christians unite with Christ's sacrifice He made of Himself to the Father. Crosses carried by members of Christ's mystical body have redemptive value to atone for sin and to call down God's blessings on humanity. Suffering has a whole new meaning and Catechism provides us a better understanding of it: Union with the passion of Christ. By the grace of this sacrament the sick person receives the strength and the gift of uniting himself more closely to Christ's Passion: in a certain way he is consecrated to bear fruit by configuration to the Savior's redemptive Passion.  Suffering , a consequence of original sin, acquires a new meaning;  i t becomes a participation in the saving work of Jesus. (CCC 1521) St Faustina wrote several testimonies n her diary about suffering. I thirst. I thirst for the salvation of souls. Help Me, My daughter, to save souls. Join your  sufferings  to My Passion and offer them to

Prayers for a Happy Death

439. Prayers for a Happy Death. (from Raccolta) i. 100 Days, once a day. ii. Plenary , once a month. I, II, III, IV. (See Instructions.) 439 Leo XII, August 11, 1824. O LORD JESUS, GOD of goodness, and FATHER of mercies, I draw nigh to Thee with a contrite and humble heart; to Thee I recommend the last hour of my life, and that judgment which awaits me afterwards. When my feet, benumbed with death, shall admonish me, that my course in this life is drawing to an end, merciful JESUS, have mercy on me. When my hands, cold and trembling, shall no longer be able to clasp the crucifix, and shall let it fall against my will on my bed of suffering, merciful JESUS, have mercy on me. When my eyes, dim and troubled at the approach of death, shall fix themselves on Thee, my last and only support, merciful JESUS, have mercy on me.  When my lips, cold and trembling, pronounce for the last time thy adorable Name, merciful JESUS, have mercy on me. When my face, pale and livid, shall in

Five Cardinals and Two Prominent Bishops Speak About the End Times

Image
Yeah I know what you're thinking: "Here we go again with the 'End Times'. Why are we focusing on the end times? No one knows when will it happen". I have been discussing this topic with people.  Some do, and when I say 'some', I'm talking about maybe 2-3 people I know who keep up with the sign of time. The rest are always trying to shut me down and move on to next conversation. I guess some are scared of hearing it, or not interested and didn't want to talk about it. This time, it is not just me talking about this. Five (good) Cardinals and two Bishops discussed about this topic on interviews from  LifeSite , and they made a very good interesting point.  They are awake and keeping watch on the sign of time.  They are aware of the situation of the Holy Mother Church — the suffering, being abused, in darkness and reflecting on the church teaching about end times. One of the comments that struck me was  Bp. Schneider's take

CoronaVirus — A Chastisement? A Wake Up Call?

We have heard about this deadly virus that is spreading all over the world, originated from Wuhan, China.  It is very alarming how deadly and quickly this virus spreads globally, yet it is rarely mentioned on mainstream media. From a religious point of view, could this be a chastisement? Perhaps, a wake up call? I don't know, we don't know.  With all the sin mankind has been committing, it is staggering. The immoralities: from abortion to euthanasia, homosexuality to transgenderism, sin of homosexual clergy, heresy, idolatry and lists goes on.. It's very obvious.  The world needs some cleansing as it is filled with filth.  It seems overdue. And if we look at what has been happening to catholic clergy/churches in china — they have been and are being persecuted by chinese government.  Churches have been demolished.  Catholics are forced to celebrate mass 'underground'. https://twitter.com/breeadail/status/1218141334109933568?s=20 Does chastisement b

Feast of the Epiphany

Source :  Aleteia It is a powerful blessing that lasts the whole year. Each year around the feast of the Epiphany many parishes throughout the world participate in an annual blessing of chalk. It is an ancient tradition that not only places God at the entrance of your home, it places your entire family under his protection. The Epiphany blessing of chalk and homes is a centuries old tradition where priests would visit each home in their parish after the Feast of the Epiphany. Over time it became more difficult to accomplish such a feat as parishes became larger and larger and priests were stretched thin. For this reason it became an accepted tradition that a member of the household is able to lead this blessing in place of the priest. The blessing has biblical roots, deeply tied to the Passover in the book of Exodus. The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt … “take some of the blood [of the lamb], and put it on the two doorposts and the lintel of the houses
